Vanessa Montez, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
I am the youngest of seven children, born and raised in San Antonio, TX. I survived a chaotic childhood marked by violence, alcohol, and drugs within my family system. As the first in my family to attend college, I faced harassment and discrimination in a predominantly white university as a Latina. This was a shocking and difficult experience, but I found strength through my family and peers. I understand what it means to be a minority in one environment and a majority in another. Navigating different social and cultural circles over the years has been a powerful learning experience. Despite several failed relationships, I healed from past traumas and eventually found love again. I am married to my best friend, who serves in the military, and together we have three children. As a military wife, I have embraced the changes that come with each move, learning that flexibility and patience are essential to overcoming daily challenges. I have carved out my space in the world alongside my husband and his successful career. There were many times I doubted my abilities and fell short of my goals. In the last three years, I have found clarity in my life and am eager to encourage other women who may be struggling. This journey of acceptance has not been easy, but I am proof that with the right support and guidance, you too can find the Best Version Of Yourself! I hold a Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, which has further equipped me to support others on their journeys. Let's begin your journey today.
