Hello! My name is Vanessa, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida and have over 15 years of experience working with adults and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, addictions, relationship/marital, and sexual issues. The modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and I'm trained in The Gottman Method for couples. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I utilize an integrated approach that is tailored to each client from a client-centered perspective while incorporating cognitive-behavioral and emotion-focused strategies. I believe therapy is most effective when you find not only someone trained and experienced but also a good fit for you. My biggest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood, and in my skillful use of evidence-based techniques to help clients achieve meaningful change.
