Getting to know Vania Djavid

There is so much empowerment in the exploration of the unknown unconscious. Together we will explore what is standing between you and your true authentic self and work on bridging the gap. I offer a safe holding environment where emergence of unconscious and subconscious thoughts and feelings are welcomed.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a psychotherapist who specializes in the gentle process of discovery, opening and the release of unwanted feelings, stuck and frozen places inside of you, and trauma. In working with your unique history, I help you find your own self regulation and self empowerment around areas in your life that trigger, low self esteem, unresolved issues, difficult emotions, depression, anxiety, rage and unwanted behaviors. I create a safe space for clients to bring their issues and problems. You will learn how to become intimate with the thoughts and feelings surrounding your past; learn how to deeply experience yourself as you are, learn to witness your thoughts and discriminate which ones support you, and access a deep calm, stillness and spaciousness within yourself. Research has now revealed the plasticity of our brain; a mind/body connection is the confound behind any true healing. I access a mind/body connection, trainings in Neurobiology, Neuroscience and Buddhist Practices. I am here to help others feel empowered through this healing process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy works best when you feel seen and understood by your provider — this is why finding the right fit is so important. If you’re curious to see if we’d be a good match, I encourage you to reach out.

I was there 10 minutes prior and no one was at the office. I called and left a message, knocked on the door and no answer. Wouldn’t recommend her, not a professional. Seek help elsewhere.

Did a video call she was 10 minutes late and didn’t address it. She wanted to immediately ask lots of questions which is totally normal but she wanted every trauma I had ever experienced in as much detail as possible she said. This seemed very strange for a first visit but I went with it because I thought maybe this is the processing for EMDR which she had listed in her experience and I wrote I wanted on my intake for her office. Only to find out at the end she does not do EMDR. I was confused why she had this listed on her Zocdoc bio or why she didn’t read my intake for her office. Lastly I did tell her I was working closely with a psychiatrist for a proper diagnosis. She then decided to give her opinion on a medication that I did not say I was even going to take which did sound very fear mongering. She said it would not help me after only talking to me for 30 minutes then saying well Im not trained in psychiatry.

I highly recommend Vania! Her empathetic approach and insightful guidance have truly helped me navigate challenges and find clarity. I’m grateful for the support on my journey towards personal growth and healing.
Vania was the best therapist I’ve had. She helped me open up in a way I had not been able to and helped me process my traumas. She was very accommodating, working with me and my availability, as well as with my health insurance to get me covered. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs mental health counseling.
Been seeing Vania for about a year now. Nothing but positives things to say about our time so far. I was really skeptical about counseling/therapy going in but Vania had made the experience easy and comfortable. There is no feelings of pressure or judgement, I feel I’m able to get through stuff at my own pace. She’s been a huge help through these tough times in my life. Would highly recommend
If you prefer someone who is attentive, compassionate and direct, you will like her. I'm always suspicious of therapists who have little to say... I'm not sure if they are prolonging therapy to keep the money coming in, or if they are thinking about their chores. In my experience there are too many of those kinds of therapists out there. Vania is definitely not like that, rather I have come to know that she loves her job, she's very professional and she remembers you.
Vania is motivating without being condescending or judgmental; when you're struggling to make positive changes, it is incredibly encouraging to have the support of someone so skilled and compassionate! Vania's thoughtful feedback is also really helpful when you're feeling stuck, or need a little direction to get back on track. Because of this, I can confidently recommend Vania to anyone looking for therapist and hoping to make real change!
I'm not sure how other people feel about their therapists, but I can say with absolute conviction that I chose the right one. Not only does she truly care about how I feel, but she gives real, honest feedback. Her questions stay with me throughout the week. I have grown so much.
VANIA is, hands down, the most caring, empathetic, wonderful therapist I have ever seen. Having been to a few therapists prior to seeing her, I was completely blown away by the difference in my sessions with Vania. She really is invested in her patients, and genuinely listens and responds to you. She is not your typical therapist, she will call you out, make you dig deep, laugh with you, cry with you, and tell you like it is, even when you might not want to hear it. ;) She completely changed my life, I use her advice often, like I have a mini-Vania on my shoulder coaching me. If you are really, truly ready to help yourself and grow, Vania is the way to go.
Vania's style of open, direct communication combined with empathy and humor makes the whole process of improving yourself seem more fun and less intimidating. I will tell you that what will take you 5 or 6 sessions with another counselor, you will do in 2 or 3 with Vania. You're not going to dance around the issue, you will confront the issue, process and heal. Her ability to really listen to me and ask questions that quickly get me to see my path more clearly is truly a special skill. I can honestly say that I cannot imagine going to see anyone else. If you are willing to really look at yourself and willing to laugh at yourself and willing to improve, don't hesitate...call Vania today!
I had gone to other therapists in the past, but until I worked with Vania, I was never able to get to the true heart of the matter, make peace with myself, and move on to have the life that I always wanted. I have recommended her to many friends who have raved about her, and thanked me over and over again for the introduction. I am very grateful to Vania. She has truly been a gift in my life!
