Verlon Green, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MS
Hi, my name is Verlon Green, and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSWS) with a Master's in Social Work from Mississippi Valley State University. I have been providing psychotherapy for 14 years. My passion is helping others restore their sense of peace and calm by assisting them in strengthening their ability to bounce back from adverse situations. My approach My therapeutic approach is CBT. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy. Your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health (whatever that means to you) all need to be in a healthy state to heal from life changes. Changing the way you think about your situation is the beginning of healing. My focus I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I find that I work better with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and life changes because they are usually willing and ready for help. My communication style Therapy is all about the client. I am open, nonjudgmental, and informal. I provide a supportive and encouraging environment. My journey to mental healthcare My first job out of college was in mental health. I realized that what I have been doing all my life is being supportive and helping others solve problems. I have worked with clients in several different environments-inpatient, outpatient, school-based, state, hospital, and private practice. I felt that I needed to work in different settings to improve my skills and find my best fit. My goals for you I work with clients to identify their end goals and how to reach them to restore balance. My first session with you During our first session, we will work on identifying the problem and building rapport. I will assess presenting symptoms and life history to help identify your foundation and norms.
