Getting to know Vernice Danna

I have 9 years of experience helping adults, teens, and children in crisis, working with children with ADHD and Autism in educational settings. Additionally, I work with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I am certified in trauma-informed therapy and licensed to practice in Michigan. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Wayne State University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A client can walk through the door broken. As a therapist, I understand the impact of how thoughts can affect an individual's life in various ways (i.e. socially, emotionally, environmentally, spiritually, and culturally). When more tragedy strike, they may feel lost, broken, while only wishing they could go back to a place of normalcy and with their dignity. This is where my experience in Trauma and Loss can bring compassion and patience to meet the client's immediate needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sometimes the hardest decision is to seek help. Maybe you feel you won't be heard or it's too embarrassing. This is where I come in. I offer you my time, my talents, and my learned experience to help you find the best solution in your quest to move forward. Trust is built between the client and me because I listen to them tell their story. Depending on what has been identified and the best approach to address the issues at hand, we develop a plan for intervention, Clients can expect to leave a session feeling empowered and ready to move forward in their healing process.
