Getting to know Vernise Miguel

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with three years of professional experience. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University, and an Associate's degree from Broward College. I have experience assisting clients in managing stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, and helping them increase their self-esteem, confidence, and motivation. In addition, I am well-versed in supporting clients with depression. I believe that you are the writer of your story, which means you have the power to create your desired outcome and the strength to overcome the challenges and obstacles that can keep you from reaching your goals and dreams. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you on your journey. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session is the most important session for me. It is the beginning of something wonderful and it all starts by building a good rapport with you. Therefore, in the first session, I will work on getting to know you by asking a few questions and allowing you to share things you feel comfortable sharing about yourself. Before getting to know you, I will inform you about the consent form which includes the rules of therapy and expectations. I will make sure you understand this is a safe and open place to share your thoughts and emotions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
