Getting to know Veronica Montoya

Veronica Montoya has experience working with all ages, including adults, young adults, teens/adolescents, and children. She has worked with people in a broad range of areas, including anxiety, depression, substance use, parent-child relationships, self-esteem, decision-making issues, and body image concerns. The most important aspect of my work with you will be to build a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship in which we can together work through whatever difficulties you may be facing. Being a therapist is my first career. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish from Florida Gulf Coast University and hold a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, which led to my licensure as a mental health counselor. There are many reasons I am well-suited to be a therapist, but to begin, I am nonjudgmental, caring, empathetic, and open. I have worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, residential treatment centers with adults and teens, and specialized therapeutic foster care with children. I have also worked with everyone from infants and toddlers to seniors. These diverse experiences help me take a holistic approach when working with my clients.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
