Veronique Gilmore, LPC

Psychotherapist
SC
My name is Veronique Gilmore. I am a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. I like to meet clients where they are and tailor my sessions to their needs. From day one, we start by building coping strategies. My approach I use cognitive behavioral therapy as the basis of my approach; however, I also pull interventions from other therapeutic approaches if they would benefit my client. My focus I have experience working with people facing various mental health disorders. I tend to see clients who experience life changes, emotion regulation difficulties, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression more frequently. My communication style I create a warm and safe environment and encourage telehealth participants to find a similar space in their own environment. I'm relaxed and laid back while providing in-between session exercises. I also understand that life happens, so sometimes we have to pivot to make things work better for the client. My journey to mental healthcare People have always gravitated toward me and shared their stories. I like to listen and help people find their way. Becoming a therapist was the best way for me to incorporate these things and make a living! What I enjoy most is seeing my clients improve so much that they no longer need therapy and are mentally healthier. My goals for you We set goals together that follow the SMART goal model. I usually have a preset list of goals we can use to develop a treatment plan, but it's up to the client to determine if those goals align with what they feel they can feasibly do and what they want from therapy. My first session with you I will ask a lot of questions to build rapport and understand what brings you into therapy. We will definitely discuss a coping strategy for you to start working on before your next session.
