Psychotherapist
4000 Westerly Pl, Newport Beach, CA
My name is Vi, and I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, and graduated from Chapman University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, and my CA license number is 135756. I am employed at Premier Family Counseling. I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families, including several years supporting children. I am also familiar with multidisciplinary settings that emphasize collaborative care. My clients include those struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disturbances, life transitions, low self-esteem, identity crises, grief and loss, children of divorced parents, and trauma, as well as those seeking support for their children. As a second-generation Vietnamese American, I bring cultural competence and incorporate cultural perspectives into my therapy approach. I am particularly passionate about working with the Asian American community. My therapeutic approach primarily focuses on Emotion-Focused Therapy, while also integrating other methods to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. I believe the most crucial factor for successful therapy is building a strong therapeutic connection. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and can be their authentic selves. I also emphasize the mind-body connection and often incorporate mindfulness practices into my work. In my personal life, I am a devoted dog mom who enjoys music, cooking, playing League of Legends, coloring, outdoor activities, and spending time at the beach. I also have a soft spot for cute little things.
