Psychotherapist
18455 Burbank Blvd, Ste 212, Tarzana, CA
I have a background in critical thinking from my undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and film school. I also hold a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge, as well as a Master's degree from the University of Southern California. As a therapist, I have worked as a counselor at the LA Suicide Prevention Center, at CalFam community clinic, and as a supervisor and consultant with trainees, associates, and licensed therapists. This combination of analytical background, crisis intervention skills, and thousands of hours sitting with a variety of clients has helped me develop expertise in working with depression, anxiety, and big questions about the meaning of life and how to be happier. In my work with high-achieving professionals from creative industries, academia, and the business world, I've learned to help you understand why you might get caught up in issues like imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and confusion over your real values.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you're looking for relief from depression and anxiety, or hoping to build more loving relationships, I can help you find that. In an atmosphere that's sometimes warm, sometimes intense, and sometimes lighthearted, we'll look at both your past, to see the forces that have shaped who you are, and at your present, to see which choices are working and which are getting in your way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Together, we'll set specific goals that identify the deeper causes of your discomfort, and list actionable steps to start feeling better. A typical session starts with you bringing in anything you want to discuss or look into, very often something that's bugging you lately, and ends with me bringing it back to those themes and goals that can help you grow. On any given day you might be more interested in getting support, gaining deep insight about your patterns, or taking specific actions to approach the world differently.
