Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Vicki! I have been a therapist for over 30 years and have supported thousands of people on their journey from overwhelming pain and anxiety to balance and health in their inner space. Throughout my career, I have continually developed my skills in working with individuals suffering from trauma, anxiety, and grief. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, which laid the foundation for my advanced training and practice. My approach I use an Integrated EMDR approach, combining Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy with cognitive techniques, Internal Family Systems, depth work, psychoeducation, and trauma- and grief-tending methods. During online sessions, EMDR is facilitated by the EyeScan lightbar. My focus I work primarily with mature individual clients via online video sessions. Most of the people I support are dealing with trauma, high anxiety, and/or grief. My communication style I am highly present and interactive in my work. My methods are transparent—you can always ask questions and understand what we are working on. My approach is straightforward, aiming to help people make progress by identifying stuck places and developing skills to move through them. My journey to mental healthcare As a minor, I was a victim of violent crime. To become a healthy adult, I had to learn to work through trauma. Receiving help sparked my interest in supporting others, especially as I became clearer about which therapies were ineffective and which truly helped. Recognizing the shortage of effective relief for traumatic conditions, I was motivated to pursue the advanced training necessary to transition from a career in the visual arts to becoming a therapy provider. My goals for you From the start of therapy, we identify goals through conversations about the most stressful parts of your life. We regularly check in on these goals to ensure progress and adjust as needed.
