Getting to know Vickie Neapolitan

I’m Vickie Neapolitan, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating anxiety and depression. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to our work together. I believe that you are the expert on your own life. In my practice, you drive the treatment goals—I’m here to walk alongside you as a guide and support. Together, we’ll work on developing self-acceptance and managing symptoms in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to you. My passion for this work is deeply personal. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community gives me insight into the unique challenges many of my clients face—from navigating identity and coming out, to dealing with discrimination, internalized stigma, and the mental health impacts of living in a world that isn’t always affirming. I’m committed to creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. If you’re looking for a therapist who gets it and who will empower you to lead your own healing journey, I’d be honored to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or trauma related to their relationships or family. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
