Getting to know Victor Franco

My family brought me to the United States from the Dominican Republic when I was give years-old. I grew up witnessing domestic violence, with some bright spots throughout my childhood. I was a sensitive child with a passion for writing and drawing. I was also resilient. After obtaining my own healing, out of a passion for both visual art and psychology, I started my career as an Art Therapist in the state of New York. I presently reside in Pennsylvania, where I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor licensure. Overall, I have been working in the mental health field since 2018. I have had the pleasure of working in voluntary outpatient as well as inpatient and mandatory outpatient settings with a wide variety of populations. I have worked with a wide range of ages and populations including domestic violence victims and perpetrators, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, and grief and loss. I have also worked with behavioral disorders and identity issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Oftentimes, our words are not enough to express the depths of our emotions. I believe in client-directed therapy. I use a client-tailored mixture of Art Therapy and other psychotherapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychoanalysis, and more. I understand that current circumstances are difficult beyond words. This is why I'd like to partner with you to find ways to vent and express yourself with help of creativity. As we explore those things you're struggling with, we'll also find ways to help you cope and visualize realistic, step-by-step solutions to these struggles.
