PTSD can develop when the mind and body have endured overwhelming stress, threat, or trauma for too long. It may show up as hypervigilance, intrusive memories, emotional numbness, irritability, avoidance, isolation, shame, or feeling constantly on guard even when you are safe. These responses are not signs of weakness; they are survival strategies that once helped protect you but may now be interfering with your relationships, sense of self, and ability to feel at peace. I deeply understand this experience. With 18 years of military service across two branches and multiple deployments, including combat experience, I have learned how trauma, chronic stress, and a strong survival instinct can shape our emotions, relationships, and self-perception. This journey inspired me to pursue this work. In therapy, I provide a safe and supportive space where you do not have to minimize what happened, hide your symptoms, or feel ashamed of how you have learned to survive. Together, we will explore how trauma has affected your nervous system, your thoughts, your emotions, and your relationships, while building practical tools to help you feel more grounded, present, and connected to the person you want to be. My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I integrate a wide range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Person-Centered and Narrative Therapy, with a relational style focused on safety, honesty, and compassion. I work with adults and veterans who are navigating PTSD, trauma-related stress, triggers, avoidance, emotional disconnection, and the painful patterns that can follow traumatic experiences. Areas of Focus: trauma, anger management, stress responses, emotional regulation, veterans' issues, and adult therapy—MA & BA from St. Edwards University, and MA from Arizona State University.
