What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m Victoria. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from New York City. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey and I am dedicated to helping my clients navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and the compassion that they deserve. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative effort, where clients feel heard, supported, respected, and empowered. My approach is warm, compassionate, direct, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, work stress, life transitions, or feeling stuck, I strive to provide a safe space where you can explore your experiences without judgment and work toward creating a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. I founded Balance Psychotherapy PLLC with the belief that mental wellness is not about achieving perfection—it’s about finding a sustainable sense of balance that works for you. I consider it a privilege to work with each individual client as you navigate each chapter of your life, while we celebrate growth, and work toward creating a life that feels meaningful and balanced.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and finding the right therapist matters. Because every individual has unique experiences, needs, and goals, therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all approach. During our consultation, we’ll have the opportunity to briefly discuss what you’re looking for in therapy, I will answer any questions you may have to help determine whether working together feels like a good fit. We’ll also cover the practical details—such as scheduling, fees, insurance, and next steps—so you can make an informed decision about moving forward. There is no pressure or obligation—just an opportunity to connect and explore whether I can provide the support you’re looking for!

Each visit since I have become a client has continued to help me improve. I started with Victoria in the middle of a very chaotic situation and was quickly put at ease. I have had such a positive experience working with Victoria. She is incredibly personable and kind, and creates a safe and comfortable environment where I feel truly heard and understood. She is an excellent listener and always takes the time to help me process my thoughts and feelings. She is always honest and open with me. Through her support, guidance, and encouragement, I have grown so much as a person. I am grateful for the impact she has had on my life and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and supportive therapist.
I've been in and out of therapy for almost a decade now, and I've never truly found the right fit for me. After years of communication barriers and cynicism, I finally found a therapist who was able to break through the walls and provide the care and attention I needed. When I'm speaking with Vic, I know I have her undivided attention, and she deeply values every word I say. She cares about her patients and makes it extremely clear—even without saying it—that she wants the absolute best for you. A big problem I had with therapists in the past was feeling like a test subject, or simply being subconsciously reminded of the power imbalances between me and the provider. With Vic, however, each session is humanized and filled with unmatched energy and empathy. Throughout my time with her, I have made immense progress in my personal life and seen growth I didn't know was possible. I highly recommend Vic without any reservations.
She is truly the best. She’s incredibly ethical, compassionate, and always creates a safe, supportive environment. She doesn’t just listen, she gives you the tools and guidance you need to navigate whatever you’re going through. I always leave sessions feeling understood, empowered, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. I can’t recommend her enough.

I've been seeing Victoria for the past two years, and I truly can't recommend her enough. From the very beginning, she created a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where I always feel comfortable being myself.
I cannot recommend Victoria highly enough. From the very first session, she created a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where I felt truly heard and understood. Her compassion, professionalism, and ability to ask thoughtful questions helped me gain valuable insight into myself and navigate some of the most challenging times in my life. I always leave our sessions feeling supported, encouraged, and more confident in my ability to handle life's challenges. If you're looking for a therapist who is knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely invested in your well-being, I wholeheartedly recommend Victoria. Working with her has been one of the best investments I've made in my mental and emotional health.
Victoria was very helpful to me during a rough time in my life. She is a diamond in the rough as far as psychologists go, in my experience. Her listening skills and intuition are second to none. She is a shining star in her field. Look no further, you found the best there is.
I’ve had a great experience with Victoria. She makes it easy to open up, really listens, and gives thoughtful advice that’s actually helpful. Every session feels productive, and I’ve noticed a real difference in how I handle things since we started working together. I’m very grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable therapist.
I can’t say enough good things about Victoria. From the very beginning, she has made me feel comfortable, understood, and never judged. She has helped me work through some of my most difficult struggles with severe anxiety and I truly feel like I’ve grown so much because of her support. She is incredibly kind, compassionate, and someone I completely trust. As someone who is weary of who I tell things to, I’m so grateful I found her & would recommend her to anyone looking to speak to someone for help- even if you don’t know where to start she knows exactly what to do and say to help! I’m very grateful to have her!
I can’t recommend Victoria enough!! She is incredibly sweet, compassionate, and so easy to talk to. From the beginning, she made me feel comfortable and created a space where I could be completely myself without ever feeling judged. I’m someone who doesn’t trust easily, and it’s very hard for people to break down my walls. With her, I was able to do that. She has a way of making you feel safe, heard, and understood. One of my favorite things about our sessions is that we laugh A LOT!! Even when we’re talking about difficult things, she helps me feel at ease while still helping me work through them. I always leave our sessions feeling supported and with a new perspective. She truly cares about her clients, and it shows. I’m so grateful for everything she’s helped me through, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who is kind, genuine, and easy to connect with.
Vic has helped me tremendously over the past year. She has such a warm welcoming energy while also holding so much knowledge and stays extremely professional.
