UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. I keep an open mind, recognizing that everyone has experienced some type of trauma in their lives, and I assist them in processing and acknowledging those feelings. Through our conversations, I help deepen your self-awareness and provide a better understanding of how past experiences influence present behavior. I enjoy and specialize in working primarily with young adults, though I also have experience with older populations. My clients typically report challenges related to family, as well as various aspects of depression and trauma. In difficult situations, it is common to feel overwhelmed or unheard, and we all can benefit from additional support in overcoming past experiences. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I keep an open mind that everyone has experienced some type of trauma in their lives and I assist them in processing and acknowledging those feelings. From our conversations, I can assist in helping you deepen your self-awareness as well as provide a better understanding of the influences of the past on present behavior. I provide an empathic approach which can guide clients to look deeper into themselves while also figuring out new ways to handle certain interpersonal situations. Everyone needs someone to listen and hear their true voice. My goal through our sessions is that you're able to walk away with a new perspective and game-plan for future encounters as well as feel supported in making new decisions and changes within your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions and then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. I like to get a clear idea of what you’re struggling with so I can figure out how to best serve you. Talking about certain personal issues can be hard, but I try to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Clients tell me I excel at motivational interviewing, trauma-informed CBT, and compassionate inquiry; I can also provide resources for your own self-exploration of certain topics. I enjoy and specialize in working with young adults primarily, but I also have experience working with older populations. My clients typically report issues with family as well as different aspects of depression and trauma. In difficult situations, it is typical to feel overwhelmed or unheard and we all can benefit from some additional support in overcoming past experiences. My goal is that, through our sessions, you're able to walk away with a new perspective and game plan for future encounters while feeling supported when making new decisions and changes in your life.
