Getting to know Victoria Cortez

If you are reading this, you have been contemplating potentially attending therapy. So, let's answer the question right off the bat-why do people go to therapy? One way I like to put it is that people go to therapy when their mind and body are not connecting. For example, your mind wants to ?move on? or ?focus,? but your body is having all sorts of feelings. Sound a little familiar? Another reason one might go to therapy is to regain some sense of control or to build self-trust. Maybe there is something that keeps coming up in life that you would like to address so it doesn't continue to interfere with your relationships or daily life. Or maybe you are the first in your family to be on a healing journey and are experiencing the growing pains that come with making that very brave choice. For whatever reason has brought you to read this, I'm happy you're here. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from National University, and I believe that everyone's journey is unique and deserves a safe space to share. I see my role as a therapist to meet you where you are emotionally and to help guide you along your healing journey. I look forward to meeting you where you are on your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session will be to gather information about your background, what has inspired you to attend therapy, and identify problems/goals for therapy. The hope is that you will be able add more coping skills to your toolbox, have a safe space to process inner work, and grow towards your wellness goals.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
