What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, and Behavioral Activation to assist clients with learning the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behavior, as well as to learn and use effective coping strategies. I like to take the client's lead as to whether they prefer a more passive, listening approach or if they want to set and achieve goals. I can assign weekly tasks to achieve goals or take a less active approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I fully believe that the therapeutic process relies on a good fit between the therapist and the client, and I support the client's right to search for the best therapist for them. In order to help in this process, when you book with me, I will reach out to you via email to connect prior to the scheduled appointment. This can be a brief 15-minute phone call, free of charge, or via email messaging if a call can't be arranged. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and decide if we want to proceed with the scheduled 1-hour appointment.
