Getting to know Victoria Iwanowski

Hello! I’m Victoria Iwanowski, a dedicated and passionate Licensed Social Worker. My journey began at Arcadia University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. This foundation sparked my interest in the intersection between the criminal justice system and mental health, leading me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work from West Chester University. Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to supporting individuals and families as they navigate the challenges of the justice system and the emotional struggles that can accompany it. My passion also extends to working with athletes who experience unique pressures related to sports performance, helping them balance both their mental and physical well-being. In my practice, I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, and ADHD through a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These approaches allow me to tailor my work to the individual needs of each client, empowering them to build resilience and foster meaningful growth. Outside of the office, I enjoy going on spontaneous adventures with my dog and watching sports with my family. I’m always eager to try new things, learn something new, and share in the discovery of life’s random and wonderful details.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of where they are starting from. My role as your therapist is to offer a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. I approach each session with empathy, curiosity, and collaboration—recognizing that you are the expert of your own life. Working with me means partnering in a process of exploration and empowerment. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, uncover patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop strategies that align with your personal values and goals. I value authenticity and transparency, and I strive to meet clients where they are with compassion and encouragement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with an initial intake session, where we discuss your current concerns, background, and goals for therapy. From there, we collaboratively develop a plan that best supports your needs and priorities. Sessions typically integrate elements of CBT, DBT, ACT, and Strengths-Based approaches, depending on what resonates most with you. I often incorporate practical coping tools and reflection exercises to help you apply what we discuss in real-life situations. When working with teenagers and young adults, I place special emphasis on life transitions—such as adjusting to college, entering the workforce, or managing new responsibilities. My goal is to help clients build confidence, emotional regulation, and self-awareness as they move through these pivotal stages. Ultimately, my approach is centered on progress, not perfection. I celebrate each step forward, no matter how small, and remain committed to helping you find stability, clarity, and fulfillment along the way.
