Getting to know Victoria Montenegro

My mission is to empower teens and young adults by providing the knowledge and skills needed to cope in this ever-changing world. I have over 10 years of experience working with teens and young adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, as well as involvement with probation, DCFS, and foster care. I also have more than 10 years of experience working with student athletes. As a result of trauma, many have experienced symptoms of anxiety and depression. Many individuals who struggle to communicate what they are going through internally express themselves through their behaviors and actions. Some find unhealthy ways to cope, which negatively impact their relationships with friends and family. Others find that these unhealthy coping mechanisms affect their experiences in the classroom, at work, on the athletic field, and beyond. Transparency and vulnerability are essential parts of therapy, requiring significant courage and bravery on your end. I am here to listen with compassion, free of judgment, and with acceptance. My priority is to create a space that is emotionally safe for you to embark on your healing journey. I believe it is vital to work together as teammates in this therapeutic relationship. Teamwork and collaboration are crucial to achieving results. As the saying goes, "Teamwork makes the dream work." I hold a Master’s in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively on your path to healing.
