Hi! My name is Victoria Ramirez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have over 14 years of experience in social work, especially supporting those impacted by cancer, other chronic illnesses, and grief/loss. My approach to therapy is unique to each person I meet with, and I hope to be a part of your journey. My approach Although I use an integrated approach, the most common theoretical frameworks I draw from are client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. My focus I have extensive experience working with clients facing an oncology diagnosis-whether their own or that of a loved one-as well as those who have experienced the loss of someone close. I also support individuals dealing with anxiety and those navigating sudden, unexpected life changes. My communication style I strive to create a safe and calm environment. My tone is soothing, and I want clients to feel reassured that this is a judgment-free zone. My journey to mental healthcare When I started college, I thought I wanted to be a teacher. However, after taking a sociology class, I became deeply interested in human behavior, which shifted my path toward social work. What drives me as a social work therapist is a genuine desire to help others. My intuitive and empathic nature helps me connect with people. Personal experiences have also shaped my focus on oncology and bereavement-areas that remain close to my heart. My goals for you I work with clients to set both long-term and short-term goals, revisiting and adjusting them throughout therapy because I understand that goals evolve over time. I use this time to learn as much as I can about you, a process that continues as we work together.
