Getting to know Victoria Roomet

Victoria Roomet is an Emotionally Focused Therapy and Ackerman Institute for the Family certified couples and family therapist. Victoria is passionate about helping couples, partners, and families become unstuck and create deeper, stronger connections with each other. She takes an anti-oppressive stance in relational therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use emotionally focused therapy when working with couples and families-- taking a look at where we get stuck in our relationships and how we can more effectively communicate our deeper feelings and needs in order for them to be more fully met. I invite clients to use their strengths to move through relational challenges and pay close attention to how our various identities (based on race, culture, gender, sexuality, ability, religion, and more) impact us and our relationships. During our initial session, I will work with you to understand what is bringing you into therapy at this time and how we can work together to move toward connection and co-regulation in relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book a session with me via zocdoc, I will be in touch to provide you with intake paperwork and to collect payment/insurance information to ensure that your sessions are covered. Intake paperwork and payment/insurance information must be completed and provided prior to our initial session.
