Hola! Are you feeling discouraged, "stuck", feel uncertain about your future, or keep thinking about past circumstances? Do you have difficulty transitioning to new areas of your life? Are you dealing with the complex feelings of grief or ambiguous loss? I once felt the same. It's never too late to ask for help. Hablo EspaƱol. My approach I listen to your issues, and we identify your needs. I utilized the Systems Theory approach to understand your needs. I believe that everyone is interconnected with larger systems (i.e., family, community, society) and that each system shapes your life experience, strengths, and challenges. I always seek to understand your needs with compassion. My focus I specialize in working with young adults of all abilities experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ambiguous loss, and a variety of life transitions. I also specialized in helping first-generation college students navigate higher education, and specialize in working with current and former foster young adults. My communication style My communication style is calm, patient, and compassionate. I strive to provide active and reflective listening to make sure I'm understanding your story and needs. I've faced hardships and have overcome adversities; that's why I know the importance of offering a safe and validating space. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy began with personal life challenges and my desire to understand human behavior and help those in need. Working with diverse families in a community mental health center helped me see the beacon of hope that a therapist can be in the life of others. My goals for you I approach therapy collaborative. We identify goals that matter to you. I will check in with you during sessions to identify progress. I'm also mindful that therapy goals change over time; I will make sure your goals reflect your current needs.
