What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with Viviana is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. She works to create a welcoming environment where clients can discuss difficult experiences without judgment. Viviana may be a good fit for adolescents, young adults, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, family conflict, low self-confidence, stress, grief, or major life transitions. She also has significant experience working with clients and families involved in child-welfare and community-service systems. During your first appointment, Viviana will ask about your concerns, background, strengths, current supports, and goals for treatment. Together, you will identify practical and realistic areas to focus on. Services with Viviana are currently self-pay unless the practice confirms other payment arrangements before the appointment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions focus on understanding the client’s concerns, history, strengths, safety needs, support system, and goals for therapy. Viviana collaborates with each client to develop a treatment plan that reflects what matters most to them. Ongoing sessions may include identifying patterns, processing difficult experiences, practicing coping and emotional-regulation skills, strengthening communication, improving problem-solving, and building natural supports. Viviana uses a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based approach and may incorporate cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and family-systems strategies. Progress and treatment goals are reviewed regularly so care can be adjusted as the client’s needs change.
