Getting to know Wendi Hoag

My view of human nature is one full of strength and resiliency. We all have the desire to live healthy and productive lives, but at times we face the challenges of unexpected life events, loss, and stressors. This is where a positive, validating and accepting relationship with your counselor becomes invaluable. Counseling provides a client dedicated time focused on present day issues as well as past experiences still impacting overall wellbeing. Empowerment, believing in yourself and learning how to like, love and accept your whole person is my goal as your therapist. My hobbies are photography, football and time with loved ones.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My primary focus when first meeting clients is to focus on building a trusting relationship. A direct approach is utilized once trust is developed and maintained. Throughout my career, there have been several client populations and concerns, including, women's issues, creating a sense of self and identity not developed early in life, healthy relationship skills, addictions, and helping clients view themselves through a compassionate, loving and accepting filter.
