I’m Wendy Goodman, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and receive support that leads to meaningful change. I welcome individuals who may appear to have everything together but feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or uncertain about their next steps. Whether you are navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, or the demands of balancing multiple roles, we can work together to make room for your needs. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. Together, we will explore what is keeping you stuck, identify your strengths, and develop practical ways to manage challenges, set boundaries, and move toward your goals. You do not need to have the right words, or everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to help you feel comfortable showing up as yourself and supported as you move forward.

Getting to know Wendy Goodman

What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first visit is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your concerns, experiences, and goals, and you’ll have space to ask questions and share what matters most to you. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. You don’t have to have everything figured out or share everything at once. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable while identifying practical steps toward the changes you want to make. I want you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer understanding of how we can work together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin by getting to know you; what brought you to therapy, what you’re experiencing, and what you would like to change. We’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and strengths, then work together to set goals that feel meaningful and realistic. Sessions combine space to process your experiences with active work toward those goals. This may include practicing coping skills, recognizing patterns, strengthening boundaries, or improving communication. When helpful, we’ll identify something you can practice between sessions. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust our approach based on your needs and feedback. My goal is for you to feel supported while building skills you can use in everyday life.
