Hi there, I'm Wesley! I am a licensed mental health clinician with 15 years of experience in the field. I enjoy working with clients to address their interpersonal dilemmas as well as unresolved internal issues. My approach I mostly use motivational interviewing and CBT. I have DBT training for clients with personality issues and training in trauma treatments. My focus I work best with clients struggling with substance use disorders, depression, and social anxiety. My communication style I try to let the client do most of the talking, using MI techniques to help structure the conversation. I am good at drawing out clients who have limited insight. I have been told that I am easy to work with. My journey to mental healthcare I worked with children with disabilities and emotional disturbances, first as floor staff and then as a case manager. From there, I received strong support to apply to graduate schools and become a therapist. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University. After grad school, I have worked mostly in IMDs and private practice. My goals for you I partner with clients on goals as the treatment topics shift.
