What should a new client know about working with you?

After enduring many life challenges and traumas myself, I went back to school 18 years ago to fulfill my dream of helping others. I am passionate about my work and feel my areas of expertise are in treating depression, anxiety, life coaching, and more. I love the quote, "to get something you've never had, you need to do something you've never done."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First and foremost I attempt to provide a safe, supportive and accepting space for clients to share. I begin a session having my client rate their level of distress at the current moment, as well as the worst they felt in the past week. Then I ask my client to share how they are feeling, their current thoughts, or anything that is on their mind or troubling them. They may also share situations or experiences over the past week. When my client is done sharing, I will offer feedback, support and interventions. I am also a provider that believes in homework, whether or not my client decides to complete the homework is up to them, but I want to provide every opportunity possible for growth.
