Getting to know Dr. William Cloke

I have worked in private practice for over 30 years. I started out studying Social Anthropology, received a Master's degree in Education, and taught school in Santa Monica for 11 years. I have trained in most modalities and earned a PhD in Psychology from the California Graduate Institute. I have written a book, Happy Together, which won three book awards. I also bring my life experience and being married for 32 years to the therapy session.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am essentially collaborative, empathic and kind in my way of working. I will always be straight with you but with caring for who you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I generally take a history, then develop a treatment plan and work towards our mutually agreed on goals for therapy.
