Winaldbert Remonvil, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, and overwhelming life stress. Many of the clients I work with are high-achieving adults, creatives, and people who carry a deep sense of responsibility for others while struggling to identify their own needs. My work focuses on helping clients understand the emotional patterns and internal narratives that keep them stuck — often rooted in early experiences of caretaking, overperformance, or fear of rejection — and guiding them toward a more grounded, authentic sense of self. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, attachment-based treatment, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I strive to create a warm, reflective, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions, challenge long-standing patterns, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, strengthen emotional regulation, deepen self-understanding, and develop sustainable tools for lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a therapy experience that is collaborative, structured when needed, and deeply attuned to their emotional world. I work at a pace that honors both your strengths and your vulnerabilities. You will notice early on that I am both warm and direct: I highlight patterns that may be affecting your well-being, while also ensuring you feel understood and supported. I value authenticity in the room — including moments of silence, emotional discomfort, or uncertainty — because these often reveal the deeper layers of your experience. My approach is nonjudgmental, culturally responsive, and rooted in helping you reconnect with the version of yourself that may feel hidden beneath stress, expectations, or past experiences. Therapy with me is a space where your story can be understood in context and where meaningful change becomes possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with an initial session focused on understanding your concerns, history, and goals. Together, we identify the patterns — emotional, relational, and cognitive — that shape how you experience yourself and others. I integrate evidence-based tools such as CBT, schema work, and mindfulness with insight-oriented exploration to help you understand both the “why” behind your feelings and the “how” of creating change. Over time, sessions include skill-building, emotional processing, and practical strategies tailored to your unique needs. For clients struggling with anxiety or overperformance, we work on grounding techniques, cognitive restructuring, and redefining core beliefs. For couples, the process focuses on attachment patterns, communication, and repairing cycles of disconnection. We consistently check in on progress and adjust the approach to ensure therapy remains responsive, effective, and aligned with your goals.

More information on payments and coverage

I accept several major insurance plans through Headway, a secure billing and administrative partner. If you add your insurance information when booking, Zocdoc will confirm whether your plan is in-network before your appointment. If your plan is not in-network or you prefer not to use insurance, I offer private-pay rates and can provide a detailed superbill for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. For clients using insurance, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance are determined by your specific plan. You will be notified of any costs before your session. For private-pay clients, payment is due at the time of service. Please note that I do not file out-of-network claims on your behalf. If you have questions about coverage or costs, you may message me through Zocdoc prior to scheduling.
