I am a licensed mental health counselor who speaks both English and Spanish. I have degrees from Fordham University and Manhattan College. As an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, I know how hard it can be to adapt to a new culture while dealing with issues of identity, exclusion, and resilience. These experiences have had a big impact on my work and made me even more committed to social justice and fair healthcare.

I use a therapeutic approach that is kind, works with you, and is tailored to your specific needs. To help clients deal with anxiety, chronic illness, identity development, and difficult transitions, I use person-centered and cognitive-behavioral methods. What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session typically consist of conducting an intake to learn more about you and how I can help you and allow to ask any questions as well as determine if I am a good fit. Together we will formulate a plan on next steps. Clients can expect a supportive, non-judgmental space where they will feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. My approach focuses on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, effective coping strategies, and improved problem-solving skill.
