My name is Yamilet Guntin, and I’m an LCSW specializing in trauma and somatic interventions. I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples. As a therapist, I understand the profound power we all hold to heal ourselves. With the right therapeutic guidance, you can reset and develop a healthy relationship with your nervous system, strengthening both your internal world and your interpersonal relationships. My goal is to collaborate with you so that you can take the lead on your path to recovery, self-efficacy, emotional regulation, self-determination, and the achievement of your goals. Healing is possible.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a therapist and personally I have gained an understanding of how anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief impact our daily lives in negative ways, My practice is based on two principles: Science and Compassion. Several theories shape my practice from psychodynamic to somatic work gear to reset the nervous system and to foster the possibility for change.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I’m a therapist and yogi who believes we can all strive for the best version of ourselves. As an immigrant, I understand firsthand how impactful, frightening, and traumatizing that experience can be. I am also an advocate for communities facing historical and social challenges, including LGBTQ+ individuals and minorities affected by systemic barriers.

Highly recommend would be an understatement! Yamilet is everything you could want in a therapist- extremely knowledgeable, extremely accommodating, and not to mention a personality that makes you feel so comfortable and so welcome right off the bat. I have been a weekly patient for over 2 years now and have since recommended 4 other people to her who have all said the same! She truly, truly cares and loves what she does and it shows every week in the sessions with her :)
