Getting to know Yana Sadetsky

Therapy works best when you feel heard, understood, and free to be yourself. I'm a Mental Health Counselor at Zalta Mental Health Counseling, and I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can work through what's weighing on you at your own pace. I work with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, trauma, etc.. My approach is integrative / evidence-based, drawing on CBT, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused techniques, tailored to your goals rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Whether you're looking for practical tools to manage day-to-day challenges or room to explore deeper patterns, I'll meet you where you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session is about getting to know you: what brought you in, what you're hoping to change, and what has and hasn't helped before. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. I'll take the lead in keeping the conversation comfortable and focused. From there, we'll build a plan around your goals. Sessions are collaborative and practical: you can expect a mix of open conversation and concrete tools you can use between visits. I'll check in regularly on how things are going and adjust our approach if something isn't working for you. All sessions are held over secure telehealth, so you can attend from wherever you feel most at ease. I keep my scheduling clear and my communication prompt, and everything we discuss is confidential. Finding the right therapist matters, and I'm glad to answer any questions before we begin.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

1. Intake and assessment. We start with a thorough first session or two to understand what brought you in, your history, and what you'd like to be different. I'll also ask what has and hasn't helped in the past, so we don't repeat what hasn't worked. 2. Setting goals together. Once I have a clear picture, we agree on a treatment plan with specific, realistic goals. You have a real say in the direction, and we revisit it as your needs change. 3. Ongoing sessions. Sessions are typically weekly or every other week, held over secure telehealth. Each one blends open conversation with practical tools, such as coping strategies, communication skills, or reframing techniques, that you can use in daily life. 4. Regular check-ins. Every so often we pause to review progress, celebrate what's improving, and adjust the approach if something isn't working.
