What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where their voice and lived experience take the lead. The therapeutic approach is relational, client-centered, and trauma-informed, with the integration of EMDR and experiential/humanistic techniques to support healing, insight, and emotional resilience. Sessions are designed to meet each client where they are—whether that means processing trauma, navigating life transitions, exploring identity, or simply finding space to pause and reflect. Common focus areas include racial and generational trauma, PTSD, depression, grief, substance use, and challenges related to stress and self-worth. Therapy is a space for courageous self-exploration, and the pace and process are always guided by the client’s goals and comfort level. The environment emphasizes safety, authenticity, and trust, with the intention of fostering meaningful growth and lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions are paced to honor each client’s needs, comfort level, and goals. The process typically begins with building a strong therapeutic relationship through active listening, curiosity, and collaboration. The first few sessions focus on understanding your history, current challenges, and hopes for therapy. Together, we identify goals and create a flexible roadmap for our work. A typical session may include talking through present-day concerns, exploring past experiences, identifying patterns, and learning tools for emotional regulation and self-awareness. Depending on your needs, sessions may also incorporate EMDR, somatic awareness, or experiential exercises that support deeper insight and healing. The space is always client-centered and trauma-informed—grounded in compassion, openness, and respect. Therapy is not about fixing you, but about helping you reconnect with your inner resources, shift old patterns, and move toward meaningful growth.
