“Prior to the meeting, I was extremely skeptical about going to therapy. I had a few bad encounters prior to this meeting but was encouraged by my wife to continue seeking to find a therapist that I connected with. I am extremely glad I connected with Yara. She was a great listener and gave me new perspectives on my issue challenging me to think differently and overall improving my outlook. I would highly recommend her for anyone seeking a kind, gentle, and intentional therapist.”

Getting to know Dr. Yara Moreno

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) passionate about helping individuals find hope and healing during difficult times. These experiences can leave one feeling lost, depressed, anxious, fearful, and emotionally wounded. Feeling "stuck" with these emotions can be overwhelming and life-altering. However, I believe there is always hope and the possibility of moving forward. My therapy approach is client-centered, with empathy and unconditional positive regard as key factors. I understand that seeking therapy takes courage. Feeling heard and validated in a nonjudgmental space is essential to healing. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, both physically and emotionally. I have been a therapist for over 10 years, specializing in trauma, specifically sexual abuse trauma. My specialties include treating anxiety, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families addressing emotional and behavioral issues such as adoption-related issues, attachment disorders, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, grief and loss, and parenting. I work closely with clients to achieve measurable results that empower them to move forward with a positive mindset. Along my professional journey, I have managed community-based programs and supervised therapists providing trauma-informed services. These include post-adoption counseling and case management, behavioral case management for individuals with severe mental illnesses (SMI), counseling and case management for military families affected by domestic violence, and crisis intervention for sexual assault victims. This last experience inspired me to continue working with sexual abuse victims in private practice. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Argosy University, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and a PsyD from Pepperdine University, all contributing to my comprehensive approach to therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
