What should a new client know about working with you?

I know how hard it can be to take the first step to seeking help. As someone who has been “on the other side of the couch”, I deeply value creating a safe and caring space for my clients. I take a collaborative approach to my work. My clients learn from me, and I also learn from and with them. Clients describe my approach as caring, empathic, safe, and nonjudgmental. I am honored and humbled when my clients trust me to walk alongside them on their journey and this is something I hold sacred and near to my heart.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first visit, we will talk about what brings you in to therapy. We will complete an initial assessment where you'll share about yourself and any past and current challenges you've experienced. I believe that in order for therapy to be beneficial, it has to feel like a good fit for both client and therapist. I'll give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and I'll also share a little about myself and how I practice therapy. After the initial session, we will work together to support you in feeling better. My approach is collaborative. While I have knowledge and skills that I can teach, your voice in the room matters most. I will walk alongside you and help support and guide you on this journey towards living a more fulfilled, meaningful, and authentic life.
