Getting to know Yerachmiel Donowitz

As a longtime clinical professional counselor, I look forward to meeting you and providing the therapeutic knowledge, skills, and experience to ameliorate or possibly eliminate the difficulties you are experiencing. I have over 25 years of experience and credentials to validate my training and expertise. I hold an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University Brooklyn. I specialize in what would be called mind/body medicine and am board certified in both neurofeedback and biofeedback. I have found these methods to be especially helpful for people who have ADHD and anxiety-related disorders.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is to be thorough in my assessment procedure and provide a baseline for measurable results. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Your input and participation in your treatment is vital. the goal will not be to simply feel better, rather to be better and be prepared to handle the challenges of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial assessment will be virtual, with very few exceptions. After gaining a thorough psychobiosocial assessment, I would work to integrate the information and design a treatment plan with you. A typical session would be a combination of neurofeedback training and or biofeedback training as well as a cognitive behavioral piece. This is generally done in person. Weekly assignments will be given and assessments will be used along the way to help measure progress. Neurofeedback sessions are typically twice a week.
