Yi Cing Chu, AMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Remarkable Services. Many of us carry emotions that feel too big, too heavy, or too confusing to navigate alone. You or your child may be trying your best, yet still feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to express what’s happening inside. You might be feeling lost—uncertain about who you are, where you’re going, or how to reconnect with yourself. My hope is to offer you a space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel genuinely seen. With roots in both East Asia and the US, I understand what it means to move between cultures, identities, and expectations. This lived experience shapes the way I show up as a therapist—with cultural humility, softness, and deep respect for the many layers that make each person who they are. I welcome clients who are exploring identity, belonging, life transitions, and the tender work of understanding themselves more fully. As a drama therapist, I bring a gentle blend of creativity, play, and mindful presence into the work. With children, I use role plays, stories, movement, and play to help them process emotions in ways that feel natural and safe. With adults, I offer a warm, steady environment to explore emotions, relationships, inner conflicts, and the parts of yourself you’re still getting to know. I believe healing happens through connection. Therapy is a brave step. If you’re looking for a space that feels warm, safe, and grounded in curiosity, I’m here. Whether it’s for you or your child, I’d love to support you on this healing journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to help you feel heard and understood. I take a collaborative strength-based approach to therapy, which means we will work together to explore your goals and identify individual strategies that work best for you. Once you book an appointment with me, I will contact you by email, phone call, and text to make sure that we connect prior to our appointment and I will share a link for our video visit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the beginning we focus on building our therapeutic relationship, helping us create a plan for our work together. Sessions will be guided by your needs and goals as we will explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviors as we introduce tools and/or strategies that may support you. As we proceed, we will reflect on your progress, as the goal is help you feel supported while building the skills and insights you need to create a healthier life.
