Getting to know Yuan Zhang

As a perinatal therapist, I listen to my clients closely and attentively with caring and compassion. By gently offering them my genuine and candid observations, I assist them in identifying their thinking patterns, understanding their inner struggle, discovering their strength, and recharging themselves in their motherhood journey. I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University and completed a Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Karen Horney Clinic. Additionally, I am certified in CBT for Depression through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and have specialized training in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an insight-oriented strength-based approach. I work with my clients to understand how their childhood experiences with their parents affect current relationships. I help them use their strengths to grow their inner child with their daughters and sons and dive them into a healing motherhood journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with each of my clients to create a treatment plan that encompasses different techniques(majorly psychodynamic, CBT, and Feminist) to address their particular problems best.
