I'm Yurilka Hernandez, founder of Psychotherapy Today and a licensed clinical therapist based in New York, here to guide you through life's most complex and difficult matters. I truly care about my patients' well-being and guarantee top-of-the-line counseling and psychotherapy services tailored to their needs. Since 2015, I have provided a number of specialized therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences. Therapy is such a personal journey. As a therapist, I believe that therapy should be alive and engaged in each session experience. I pride myself on offering a space where therapy is just a tool for us to connect and for me to relate to you. The old-school model doesn't work for you-I have experience with both old and new model psychoanalytic approaches.
As an LCSW who draws upon Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in my work with clients of all ages, I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and adults struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, identity questions, self-esteem, parenting, and family conflict. I earned my Master's in Clinical and Medical Social Work from New York University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate, effective care.
