What should a new client know about working with you?

I meet you where you are — whether you come in with a specific problem, a strained relationship, or simply a sense that something needs to change — and we work together to get you where you want to be. You can expect warmth, professionalism, and zero judgment: you can say the hard things, change your mind, and move at a pace that feels right for you. In couples work, I don't take sides. My role is to understand each partner's experience and help you both work on the patterns between you, not to decide who is right. I'm flexible in how I work, drawing on multiple theories to match the approach to the concern in front of us. Some issues need practical relief and better day-to-day functioning; others need us to explore the root of what's happening; most need both. I'll always explain what we're doing and why, and adjust based on what actually helps you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work can begin with a thorough intake - understanding your history, what brought you in, and what you want to change. From there, we build a shared treatment plan together, so you are never just following my script. I draw from CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness, as well as systemic couple and family theories. Nevertheless, the therapy modality follows you, not the other way around. Early sessions focus on stabilization and insight. Middle sessions get into the deeper work - patterns, trauma, relationships. We check in regularly on progress, and when you are ready, we plan for ending so the gains stick.
