Getting to know Yvette Dixon

Often people don’t have a basic understanding of their own thoughts and feelings and are afraid to voice their concerns to anyone for fear of judgment. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings so they can reach their full potential and find a semblance of peace and understanding. I work with you the individual (client) to achieve the goals set forth in therapy. I am here to guide you and help you to identify your choices, navigate life’s challenges and improve your mental health I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree from Argosy University in Counseling Psychology. Over my career I have worked in residential facilities, in the community, in – home counseling and telehealth. I have run a substance abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and conducted groups and individual therapy. My counseling style is rooted in cognitive-behavioral techniques, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes. I possess extensive experience in working with and evaluating clients presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, and psychotic disorders. I believe that the first step into mental wellness is acknowledging the importance of your mental health and its effect on your overall well-being. I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward greater mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
