Psychotherapist
TX
Hello and welcome. You have taken a big step toward helping yourself. I hope that I have the privilege of working with you. My name is Yvette Ramirez, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I continued my education at Capella University and earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I began my counseling career working with clients in their homes, helping them understand their diagnosis, teaching them how to cope with their symptoms, and emphasizing the importance of medication adherence. I was promoted to the Integrated Care department, where I practiced solution-focused therapy with clients whose medical issues exacerbated their mental health challenges, or vice versa. I am trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the State of Texas and continue to utilize CBT in my practice today. Later, I was promoted to a supervisory position for the Assertive Community Treatment Team, leading a team of 13 case managers, nurses, and LCDCs who worked with clients frequently in crisis and high utilizers of local mental health hospitals. As the lead counselor for the team, I was trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy to assist clients with trauma, helping them challenge negative thoughts related to their experiences. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support those who have lived through traumatic events or endure distress that is difficult to manage. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families seeking counseling for over 10 years, both online and in person, and have expanded my work with children, adolescents, and teenagers for the past 8 years.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, we will review your intake information together, and I will ask you questions to get to know you better. I will then suggest the different therapies that would be most helpful and explain how these therapies can assist you in improving your symptoms. I usually end the session teaching you a coping skill that can help you through the week until we meet again, and we can set your goals for therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
