Hello! I’m Yvonne Smith — a wife, mom, Seminarian, and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience walking alongside individuals in their healing journey. I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Trauma-Informed Coach (CTIC), and ADHD-trained therapist, offering a compassionate, science-backed approach to mental wellness. Before stepping into private practice, I served in the Child Welfare System, where I worked with children and families facing trauma, systemic challenges, and crisis. That experience deeply shaped my heart for helping others not just survive—but heal, grow, and thrive. Who I Work With I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating: Trauma and PTSD Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm ADHD, executive dysfunction, and emotional regulation Abuse recovery, substance use, and family trauma Parenting, marriage, and relationship stress Faith-based concerns, spiritual identity, and grief Multicultural identity and racial trauma Boundary setting, identity, and self-worth struggles My Approach to Therapy My process starts with trust and safety—two critical ingredients for lasting healing. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed lens combined with relational depth, always respecting your pace and your story. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as: Trauma-Focused CBT Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Gestalt and Narrative Therapy Reality Therapy and Solution-Focused Counseling What sets my work apart is the integration of neuroscience-informed strategies. I educate clients on how trauma, anxiety, and ADHD impact the autonomic nervous system, memory, and behavior, so they’re empowered with knowledge and tools that promote real, brain-based healing. I also incorporate tools from Polyvagal Theory and mind-body regulation to help clients regain calm, control, and connection.
