Life can be strange, to say the least. We all need a place to process that strangeness and grow. Let's talk about it. My approach I meet clients where they are in life with unconditional positive regard and without judgment. My goal is to help facilitate positive change and help clients navigate tough issues in their lives. My therapeutic style is very heavy in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with elements of Motivational Interviewing. I also want to provide an ear to just listen and let clients be heard. My focus I have specialties in treating depression and anxiety, but I also have a strong specialty in treating substance use disorders. I provide psycho-education to clients on these topics in addition to coping skills for minimizing symptoms. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy entails looking at the psychological aspects of the issue (the thinking and cognitions) and then looking at new behaviors and ways of living to support improved mood. My communication style I am very laid back and not at all rigid in my approach. I strive to be authentic and open with my clients. My goal is always to help in any way that I can. My journey to mental healthcare I've been on the other side of therapy myself, and I want to give the same level of quality care and compassion that I once received. Also, human psychology is wildly fascinating, and I have always had an interest in it. My goals for you I help clients reach their goals through making those goals known in the treatment planning phase of therapy, then reviewing that plan periodically and making adjustments as needed.
