Psychotherapist
1526 Katy Gap Rd, Ste 803, Katy, TX
Is your child struggling with making good choices or handling big emotions? I have worked with children and teenagers for over 15 years and specialize in solution-focused therapy and play therapy to help children and their families learn new skills and behaviors to thrive again. Some of my specialties include ADHD, anxiety, behavioral issues, self-esteem, bullying, life transitions, and problematic sexual behavior in teens. Children frequently need the same supportive space as adults to process their feelings, learn new ways to communicate, and gain new skills for handling day-to-day challenges. My training in Solution Focused Play Therapy brings both the environment and the tools. The same tools and methods used for children also help adults, which makes me uniquely qualified to work with people of all ages! This, combined with my experience working with teenagers at the San Marcos Sexual Behavior Unit, provides a unique combination of skills and experience to help with problem behaviors and addictions as well. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas State University and my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. Together, we will identify your goals and biggest obstacles and then work side by side to develop an effective plan to learn and practice new skills to reach those goals.
