Getting to know Zoeniete Vega

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic environment tailored to each client’s unique needs. My clinical approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed care to help individuals navigate challenges related to mood, anxiety, relationships, trauma, and life transitions. I am committed to fostering a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can build insight, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your own growth. My approach is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), combined with person-centered and trauma-informed care, which means we focus on what matters most to you while also working on practical tools for change. In sessions, we will explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected and how they may be impacting your current challenges. Together, we will work on building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, and increasing self-understanding and confidence. You can expect a balance of support and gentle challenge. I will listen without judgment, while also helping you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and offering strategies to move forward in a healthier direction. My goal is to help you feel more empowered, more in control of your emotions, and more aligned with the life and relationships you want to build.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and clear from the very beginning. Before scheduling your first full session, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for you to briefly share what’s going on, ask questions, and get a feel for my approach. It also helps us decide together whether we’re a good fit—because the most important part of therapy is feeling understood and supported by your therapist. If we move forward, our first session focuses on getting a full picture of what you’re experiencing, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to change. From there, we collaborate on clear, realistic goals that reflect your needs and priorities. Ongoing sessions are typically a mix of talking through what’s happening in your day-to-day life, understanding the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and learning practical tools you can actually use outside of therapy. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with person-centered and trauma-informed approaches, so sessions are both supportive and focused on real change. You can expect a space where you’re listened to without judgment, but also gently challenged when it’s helpful for your growth. Many clients find that therapy helps them feel more grounded, more in control of their emotions, and more confident in their relationships and decisions. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling clearer, supported, and equipped with something useful you can take into your week—not just insight, but real tools for change.
