I'm Dr. Carlos Martinez, and I've spent 10 years in Emergency Medicine before moving into Family Medicine and Urgent Care. My focus areas include caring for people of all ages, guiding weight loss, promoting healthy living, and managing occupational health. I hold board certification in Family Medicine. My medical approach is broad yet targeted, aiming for impactful outcomes in every aspect of care.

I saw the nurse practitioner Aisha and she was very kind and professional. I felt very comfortable with the first time visit thanks to her friendly and calm demeanor. The front staff were also very kind and did their best even though it was very busy. Overall it was a good experience

Dr Martinez is good and his in-office staff are friendly but that’s where it ends. Calling to schedule a follow up or get any information is met with a rudeness. They gave me a referral and even after 6 calls, I still don’t have an appointment because the staff hasn’t sent over what’s required even after 8 days (by their count). There’s one gentleman who yelled at me and hung up on me. I needed some information faxed over and he said “we sent it 8 days ago”. I told him they don’t have it, can you resend it? He said well idk what to tell you because we sent it. What am I, as the patient, supposed to do with that??? He also told me I needed to give him the fax number (if you sent it, you should have it, no?).
I had to go retrieve my own docs and upload them to get any progress but the appointment still can’t be scheduled until Dr Martinez office sends their docs. I hope it doesn’t take another 8 days. This unpleasant experience makes me want to find another office to deal with.

It feels strange reviewing a doctor’s appointment with excitement but this was an exceptional experience! I arrived on time my appointment that was scheduled at opening. I also had necessary items prepared. The staff is friendly, very knowledgable, and patient. Ann is great!
Dr. Martinez is everything you want in a healthcare provider. I’m a generally healthy person but I noticed some things were off. Dr. Martinez listens attentively, asks specific questions, and explains thoroughly.
I felt like I was being understood. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel the need to validate my physical feelings. Some news I got wasn’t terrible but also not all positive, however I feel better knowing a true healthcare provider has evaluated the situation and has given actionable steps for the future.
The bar has been raised. Dr. Martinez and the other wonderful staff members have changed my expectations for any healthcare facility. I have no negative feedback at all.

I’m so mad & disgusted! I had a 3:30 appointment. As I was paying my co-pay, a sick Caucasian woman comes in without an appointment. The nurse took me back to a room. As we were going back she told me Dr. Martinez will see me before the other lady because I had an appointment. I chatted with the nurse and went over why I was seeing the doctor today. I explained I moved here recently from Texas and I need a primary care physician. The nurse was amazing. After she was done she told me the doctor would be in to see me. So, I’m sitting there for 25 mins and the next thing I hear is the doctor going into the other ladies room. I went to ask the nurse if there was a reason the Dr saw the other lady before me? She was shocked. She said she thought he was coming to my room. I texted my husband and he said leave immediately. I told the nice nurse I was leaving and she completely understood. I hope that this Dr isn’t a representation of Virginia doctors because I will never go back there.

Dr. Martinez was a good listener and was very helpful in directing me to the next steps needed to determine my health issue. Dr. Martinez was comprehensive in his questions about my health and went out of his way to understand medications I am on and my diagnoses from a variety of specialists.
