About Dr. James Okamoto

***PLEASE NOTE - HealthTap cannot treat patients with Medicaid. If you have Medicaid and already booked an appointment with one of our providers, please cancel. Thank you! A HealthTap video visit costs $129. No surprise fees or follow-up costs.*** I am excited to help patients virtually with HealthTap. I've practiced family medicine since 1995 and chose this field because I believe that a personal physician who knows you can provide better care. I take time to listen to my patients because I believe the most important information doesn't come from a physical exam but from a good history. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska and completed my residency at Cleveland Clinic, Hillcrest Hospital. One thing that gives me a personal sense of purpose is relieving suffering. I feel a sense of purpose in helping others, both locally and globally. I have been involved with disaster relief since 1992 and have worked in numerous refugee camps. I am married, have a goofy Rottweiler named Molly, and enjoy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'm also a Certified Ringside Physician, keeping fighters as safe as possible and treating their injuries.
