I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, and it has been an honor to serve my patients for over 12 years in their pursuit of an optimum balance of both physical and mental health.
Primary care physicians have the unique training and perspective to treat a full spectrum of medical issues, preventative medicine, and behavioral health concerns. Treating the full spectrum of our patients' needs is the hallmark of being a Family Medicine physician.
In my spare time, I enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather on Florida's beaches, theme parks, kayaking, and surfing. I also spend weekends coaching my 11-year-old son on his go-kart racing team.

Upon moving to Tampa needed a new GP. In intake i asked if he could do annual physical - told me yes- took forever for office to have my labs from another source (blood work) up loaded- doc told me to reschedule 2nd appt cause he didn’t have report- finally have appt to discuss labs plus other stuff and new development was I needed medical clearance ( ekg+, in person visit) he told me he has no office- only telehealth and then gaslit me by saying I was mad cause I booked a telehealth appt and said he had no office and could not do an ekg. This appt this day was to discuss labs. From the beginning I clearly on my needs of a GP as I have an underlying condition and I am not stupid to what I need. He also told me he booked an appointment for me and never did. I wasted WEEKS with disaster of a practice.

I was assured that my Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plan would be accepted, only to be automatically billed later as out-of-network. This led to a frustrating back-and-forth with Zocdoc, the provider’s office, and my insurance. Despite providing my insurance details in advance, they still scheduled and confirmed my appointment under false pretenses.
To make matters worse, the appointment itself was disappointing—brief, basic, and unhelpful. I informed the provider that I was anemic, yet he ordered blood work that didn’t even check my iron levels.
This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. I won’t be using Zocdoc or returning to this provider, who is clearly misrepresenting which insurance plans he accepts, only to bill patients later.

I have been using Zocdoc for many years, and this is the first time I have had such a horrible experience. I never even leave reviews, but I feel like I have an obligation to warn people and make sure someone else doesn’t go through this. There was no way to contact Dr. Westerfield before or after the appointment, as his contact information is listed as the Circle App’s general customer service number (you have to download the Circle app to see Dr. Westerfield). I was charged in full for my appointment, no insurance was used, and now the customer service on the Circle App is doing little to help me to get this claim processed. I can’t even contact the doctor, nor does he seem to have staff that helps him with billing.

Dr.Westerfield was amazing! He had clearly read my information beforehand so I didn’t need to repeat myself. He listened but also asked questions and set realistic expectations about my health and weight management. Excited to continue working with him towards better health. He also asked if I needed someone to prescribe my stimulant medication, and I said yes, because it’s been really really difficult to find a provider that is willing to do so. He actually preemptively asked about it which I thought was amazing. Very clear communicator which is so often lacking I feel from lots of working professionals.
